To backtrack, the story of skiing in Panorama begins in 1959, when several local ski enthusiasts joined together to look for a location for a local ski hill. After four years of searching, and several unsuccessful attempts, the present location was established in 1962. The area was named after a popular hiking area Panorama Plateau. Over the years Panorama grew as a popular skiing destination, that offers 2,975 acres of skiable mountain terrain for people all over the world. Downhill skiing not for you, but still want to be active in the snow? Panorama Resort offers multiple snow activities such as fat biking, cross country skiing, skating, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, ice skating, and snowboarding!
After hitting the slopes during the day, you can make a pit stop at local restaurants for lunch and dinner! You can start your day at the Fireside Café with a hot cup of coffee and pastry! Stop mid-mountain at the Elkhorn Cabin for an amazing experience & epic view!
After a long day when it’s time to put the skis up and nestle in for a dinner experience at one of our local favorites, Cliffhanger Restaurant, featuring a diverse, elegant menu with fresh ingredients. Stop by and have a beer at everyone’s favorite hangouts, Jackpine Pub or T-Bar & Grill. Staying in for the night? Order a carry out pizza from Alto Kitchen & Bar.
When taking a day off from skiing, treat yourself to a massage at ‘Pure Massage Spa’. Located in the heart of the village, you can find a wide variety of services including wraps, esthetics, hot stone, and spa packages. After your massage, take a dip in the hot pool at the Panorama Springs Pools and let the jets gently massage your worries away. There are also 4 hot tubs in the Horsethief Lodge common area that guests of Panorama Vacation Retreat can enjoy!

This was a beautiful escape for the week. We had wonderful accommodations equipped with full kitchen lovely living room and comfy bed. Each morning we would get up and do a beautiful walk around the resort. Cascading waterfalls wildlife and wonder all around us. It was a lovely week away in the mountains.
